Expose Yourself!

The major key to discovering new interests and passions is EXPOSURE, but it’s also about testing those interests and passions to see how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. Is it a life-long passion where you want to re-invent rocketry and take the planet to Mars (Elon Musk)? Or, is it enough to know a bunch of constellations, and simply be in awe of the universe (Me)? That’s important to know—preferably before we send our students to college—and it’s also not the only difference between Elon Musk and myself!

We need to teach students how (and also allow them to) expose themselves to far more things, in far less time, and for nearly zero cost.

Can we even do this?—you ask.

Oh, yea!! I’m going to show you how.

Online Learning Tips

I’ve been fascinated with online learning for years. The potential for it, and what’s available, is incredible, but right now it’s a struggle for a lot. I get it. Most are not online learning by choice at the moment.

Since it appears that we are in this for a little while longer, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts on how to get the most out of your online learning, and homeschooling, so here it goes!

Are Ideas Worth Sharing?

Are Ideas Worth Sharing?

(5-minute read)

The obvious answer we all want to say is, “Yes. Absolutely!” but there’s something to explore here as I recently discovered in myself a built-in hesitation, if not an outright fear, to do so. Now, there’s a reservation in me. What happened? I asked myself. Then, I chose to dive into this fear, to uncover it, shine a light on it, and find out how to remove it. Because ultimately, I think ideas ARE worth sharing, even that they need to be shared, so we can learn, understand, and grow individually and collectively. I am a teacher, after all!

Life Design Takeaway Idea (From Story)

Doctor Who and Purpose

The takeaway idea from the podcast story, In Bloom is actually an exercise from my course, Design Your Life: Like an Architect. The story and this takeaway idea are both inspired by the show, Doctor Who. It’s the last exercise from Part I of the course which is all about discovering, uncovering, and defining your purpose (click there to read a blog post about why purpose is so important).

Mindset Takeaway Idea (From Story)

What’s Your Power Well?

The takeaway idea from the story, Morgandundunston I think is really cool. It’s about visualizing those things that boost your power, and those things that suck it away. It’s perhaps just a different take on an idea you’ve heard before, but still, I love it. The idea popped into my head the other night before I fell asleep…
