Derek R HenigIn the story, BENT, there are definitely a lot of connections to the story before, TRANSFERENCE. For Transference, the science of it was strict. The laws of nature, of thermodynamics, had to be obeyed. So, that, of course, led me to think about what if we bent those laws? And a new story arises.
So, for the takeaway idea today, I also want to continue off of the last episode a little, and share another story about that choice I made…
(SCIENCE FICTION) – RICK thought he could leave it all behind, all the fighting, the war, the violence. Yet, in the peaceful and serene Sequoia National Forest, an ancient war, and a secret technology of world-ending proportions draw Rick back into a life of conflict. Soon, he’s forced to make a choice: stand by his convictions and leave the fate of the universe to chance, or do the thing he swore to never to do again–kill in the name of saving life.
The overarching theme of Transference is the question of conflict and how it relates to violence. It’s the question of: can the ends justify the means? Are there times when our only option is to act in violence or is that simply lazy thinking? But, that’s a question I’ll leave you all to ponder on your own, as there’s another idea at the core of this story that applies more to our dreams and making them a reality—which is what this whole podcast is about!
So, at its core. . .
In “Hidden Treasures,” there were quite a lot of messages simply because the mother’s letters each had to include a message for Katie to take away. There is one message, though, that is woven throughout every scene of this story. One idea that is so important and something I’ve found to make all the difference in my life as I’ve embraced it more and more, and it’s also at the forefront of every success story I’ve ever read.

(MYSTERY/DRAMA) – KATIE, upon returning from her mother’s funeral, finds a letter in the mail from her mother. In the letter is a treasure map full of riddles, but the treasure will not end up being what Katie imagines… it’ll be so much more! Enjoy this feel-good story!
